ADVENTURE SPORTS WEEK TAHOE TO HOST PADDLE BOARD EVENTS

(NORTH LAKE TAHOE, California/Nevada) – The 2^nd Annual Adventure Sports Week Tahoe, scheduled for Friday, June 15 through Sunday, June 24, will host two stand up paddle boarding events in addition to its other outdoor sporting competitions, clinics taught by professionals, live musical concerts and family-friendly activities.

“Stand up paddle boarding has really taken off in Lake Tahoe,” said Event Director Todd Jackson of Adventure Sports Week Tahoe. “It’s a relatively easy sport to learn and out on Tahoe’s pristine waters, paddling enthusiasts can see to depths of 70 feet. It made sense to include this relatively new discipline in the week’s competitions.”

The Thunderbird Run, produced by the Ta-Hoe Nalu Festival, is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 at the picturesque Sand Harbor State Park, located just outside Incline Village. Participants will paddle an eight-mile loop along Tahoe’s spectacular North Shore. All ages are welcome to take part. The race begins at 10 a.m.

The following day, Sunday, June 17, is the Tahoe Waterman Challenge, produced by the Lake Tahoe Waterman Association, which involves swimming, running and stand up paddle boarding. The race kicks off at Tahoe City’s scenic Commons Beach at 10 a.m.

Kayakers can enjoy a special Sunset Kayak Tour and Paddling Clinic, presented by Tahoe City Kayak, Monday, June 18. The group will head out at dusk to experience the magic of Lake Tahoe’s waters as the sun slowly sinks behind Tahoe’s western peaks. This is an unforgettable experience and can accommodate all fitness levels.
